I inquired about this building in February and they were asking for $1.5M which, given the amount of renovations it would have needed, the idea of turning it into a market like the one in boston (linked above) was infeasible due to soft demand in the CBD. Other options considered were high-end art gallery, beirgarten and loft conversion. They only paid $700K and have much more resources, so they could potentially weather the extremely low diversity of uses in downtown, however, that is hardly what most developers would call "feasible". - The New Detroiter [Owners of State Saving Bank Now Call It "Fantastic, Gorgeous"]
