City Council Wants to Kill The Deal To Lease Belle Isle To State

New, 9 comments

City Council is not interested in approving the proposed deal for Detroit to lease Belle Isle to the state for 30 years. Ab man and Council Prez Charles Pugh accused Mayor Bing and Governor Snyder of "rallying support for the deal before giving the council a look at it." According to the Free Press

Almost the entire council weighed in against the deal, saying they were being made out to be the "bad guy" in the situation for questioning the agreement. Last week the city tried to show us how happy we would be if this deal went through with some renderings. It would probably be unfair to say that the bad photoshopping is what worried City Council most, but it's safe to say that it wasn't the strongest graphic image of a win.
