It's a wonderful neighborhood. Gorgeous, well-maintained homes, a strong neighborhood association (key to the survival of any neighborhood in Detroit) and close to the best party store (Tradewinds) as well as two pretty decent non-chain grocery stores (Sav-On and Mike's Fresh Market). Here's the neighborhood association site: http://universitydistrictdetroit.org/ These houses were going for $250,000 and above at the peak of the boom (which is why I don't live there!) so you're getting a steal if it's at all well-maintained. - Amy Kuras [Six Bedrooms and a Slate Roof For $159 K]
