An MLive journalist has chatted up some film crew members in Detroit and confirmed that the pilot for AMC's Low Winter Sun is being shot in Detroit and using the Stott Building as a fictional police precinct. The show is an adaptation of a 2006 award-winning British miniseries of the same name and will be released in 2013. The LWS series begins with the murder of a cop by a fellow Detroit detective and is described as "a story of murder, deception, revenge and corruption." The Stott, an art deco office building, was purchased by Emre Uralli in 2010 and has a so-called Sky Bar, ironically located on the first floor. Last we checked, the bar still plans to move to the 35th floor at a later date.
