New and Blue: Detroit Public Safety Headquarters Takes Shape

Detroit/Margaritaville's new public safety headquarters is really coming together, one turquoise panel at a time. Since the groundbreaking in May, some of you have expressed your distaste for the festive new home of Detroit's finest. That's fine, but remember how it looked as the temporary location for MGM Grand? Terrible, that's how. Built in 1974 to house giant IRS computers, the building's newest incarnation will host everything from police personell to forensics labs, all while being LEED Certified. Construction should be complete sometime this summer; we'll be really disappointed if there aren't any Mojitos at the ribbon cutting.
