Candidate Real Estate

Last week, Detroit Mayoral candidate Benny Napoleon attacked former DMC CEO Mike Duggan's neighborhood, saying it was not really Detroit, ostensibly because is was bourgeois. Duggan, competitor in the Mayoral race, lives in Palmer Woods. But today we learn that Napoleon lives in a 3,000 square foot home on a nice block of Oakman Boulevard, which is not so hard-scrabble after all. So it is a draw? Either way, isn't it easier to be Mayor and think about the big picture issues if you're not nervous about getting shot outside your door? Curbed suggests that both candidates leave the real estate obsessions to us, and start proposing solutions to Detroit crime issues. [Motor City Muckraker]
