: Long ago, many of us were looking forward to a summertime opening for the Cooley family's second Corktown eatery. Though the restaurant now aims for 2014, the building's weathered facade is getting a fresh coat of paint that's far more yellow than the old stuff. A tipster also reports signs of construction behind the building—perhaps a porch or balcony.
Fatburger: The longest restaurant buildout in history (2+ years) is still happening at Midtown's Fatburger, which once promised Eater a September debut. We're still not sure this place will ever open, but new exterior signage indicates at least they're still trying.
Mo Better Blues: The brave restaurant renovating the long-dead Shield's Pizza storefront at the Kales Building is looking great, and surprised us with a soft opening the other night. The grand opening date is unknown, but it will be soon.
