The land battle between Hamtown Farms and Kowalski Sausage is escalating. Turns out, people seem to like the urban farm over Kowalski's proposed parking lot, probably because it provides the neighborhood with healthy food, gives kids an opportunity to go outside, and basically is the most benevolent thing ever. As a solution, Hamtramck emergency manager Cathy Square has proposed a solution: Bidding war! Calling it the "only fair thing to do," Square wants the non-profit community organization to out-money the decidedly for-profit Kowalski Sausage Company. If you're a fan of Hamtown Farms, they're raising money for the November 21 auction through Indiegogo.
