Hamtown Farms successfully protected the land its uses to grow fruits and veggies, outbidding Kowalski Sausage during the first round of Hamtramck's property auction. According to the Hamtramck Review, Kowalski won just a single non-essential lot used by Hamtown Farms, which is currently planted with trees. The other lots came at a steep price for Hamtown, costing about $22,950 in total. Previous to the auction, Hamtown successfully raised $10K via indiegogo. According to The Review, Hamtown farms now plans on registering as a non-profit, while Mike Kowalski merely said "we'll see" when asked about his plans for his new lot.
