SOLD! Fernando Forks Over Final Packard Plant Payment

New, 9 comments

Fernando has done it! The property hasn't been officially transferred, but Peruvian developer Fernando Palazuelo wired his final payment on the Packard Plant yesterday. According to The News, Fernando must now send in an environmental assessment team in order to apply for brownfield tax credits. That process should finish up by the end of December, at which point the deed transfer will be made official. Fernando has already pledged to live inside the Packard Plant, so if you see a U-Haul or a well-dressed man dragging a futon through the rubble, do bring over a few beers and help out. He just paid $405K for Detroit's biggest toxic trash pile, so we all probably owe him a solid.
