Ground Broken: LTU Building Readies For Construction

New, 3 comments

Midtown's future Lawrence Tech building officially broke ground today, with the A-List development crowd celebrating in a chilly hut surrounded by a McDonalds, a steam plant, and a liquor store.
It's an unglamorous setting, but that's almost the point. By the time Halloween rolls back around, this empty lot should be a three-story commercial building teeming with LTU students. Previous reports hinted at a possible restaurant on the ground floor, but that's still unconfirmed. Keep in mind, the northern corner of this block is occupied by the Agave Building, Midtown Inc's vacant restaurant/residential space. Will this new project finally jump-start the Agave's stalled renovation?
