We're Hiring! Curbed Chicago Seeks New Full-Time Editor

Effective immediately, Curbed Chicago is hiring a full time editor; long-time editor Ian Spula is moving on after more than two years of helming the ship. Are you based in the Windy City and obsessed with all things neighborhoods, development, and real estate? Are you a quick, efficient writer comfortable managing freelancers and photographers while turning out newsy stories all day long? Do you have strong feelings about any slight architectural changes to Wrigley Field? If the answers are yes, yes, and yes, read on.

First, you need to live in Chicago and, at some deep level, love Chicago. It's not necessary that you be some sort of real estate expert. Instead, we're hoping to find someone obsessed with some combination of the ins and outs of neighborhoods, architecture, design, parks, photography, history, and urban planning. Interest in social media—e.g., you use Twitter and enjoy it—is also a plus, as the gig involves a few responsibilities in that sphere. The job is full-time, salary is commensurate with experience, and there are health benefits and a 401(k).

To apply, e-mail jobs@curbed.com with the subject line "Curbed Chicago Editor"; include a paragraph about yourself and a paragraph about why you're interested. If you've got a blog, Tumblr, Twitter handle, or Pinterest board, kick the links to all and sundry our way, too. If we like what we see, we'll follow up quickly. Please note: realtors are ineligible for this gig. Thanks.
