UPDATE (12:18pm) We chatted with a representative for the owner, who said they are no longer absolutely sure that the owner wants to sell. The Craigslist ad was taken down, but there's a screen shot of it in the gallery. We'll update when we hear more.
Asking for a "best offer," the historic Fine Arts Theatre was unexpectedly listed for sale on Craigslist over the weekend. It's a cool listing: The stage area resembles a smaller version of the Magic Stick, with an open floor, a small balcony, and even a bar. Opened in 1914, the building was likely designed with some opulence. Sadly, the interior looks pretty gutted in the photos. Various forums suggest a 1970s renovation is to blame.
At over 7,000 square feet, there's a lot of interior space. That begs the question: What do you do with a building like this? Keep it as a performance venue, or convert it into some other use? If you have an idea, let's hear it in the comments.
