This Sad House in Corktown Needs a Hero or a Bulldozer

New, 4 comments

Right at 11th and Michigan, this 112-year-old house is classic Corktown, but the work required to bring her back to life is substantial. If you're a Corktown enthusiast with big ambitions and the bank account balance to match, this fixer-upper is calling your name. The interior is completely gutted, but that's likely for the best -- any structure that's endured 35 years of vacancy almost certainly needs tearing down to the studs anyhow. At four bedrooms and and 2,142 square feet, the $50K ask is a bit steep considering what needs doing. We have to assume the owners are adding value due to the home's view of the Curbed Detroit headquarters.
