Tax Auction Property Has a Jacked-Up Price, Flooded Basement

Ladies and gentleman, we have a flipper. Curbed had this little house in Mexicantown as one of the top residential properties in last October's tax auction. Less half a block from Clark Park and the amenities of West Vernor, its location looked like a strong selling point. WDOT tells us the winning bidder came in at just under $2,700, but today the house popped up on the MLS asking $10K. According to the listing, things are not looking good at 2016 Bagley, where there's water in the basement and few pipes left to carry it away. That's sad news for a house that would've had a solid future had it not been left unattended.
