Dan Gilbert was given more time to utilize his development rights at the Hudson's site Wednesday after claiming he needed the extra six months for a mysterious "international design competition." Confirmation of that competition is now out, though the details are not. Dan Gilbert is reportedly happy to spend up to $75M on the project, which seems likely to be focused on residential space. It's a safe bet, however, that the building's downtown location — sandwiched by the paths of the People Mover and the M-1 Rail — indicates retail space will not be left behind.
