An established contemporary art gallery known as The Butcher's Daughter is packing up and heading to Midtown. Previously based in Ferndale, the gallery was founded by Monica Bowman, who returned to Detroit from New York City in 2008 to set up shop. The gallery's odd namesake is due to Monica's family containing several butchers, including her father and sisters. Other than an anticipated May 2013 opening, no specifics are available quite yet.
