Bucharest Grill Sets Up in Corktown's Former Chinese Joint

New, 26 comments

It's been a long time—if ever—since anyone wanted to eat at the Michigan Avenue building branded "Great Wall Chinese Restaurant." But this is magical Corktown, where gas stations become florists, taxi garages become distilleries, and the best building in the bunch gets doused in turquoise paint and left to rot. Therefore, we take it seriously when multiple sources are telling us this icky Chinese food shack is undergoing work to become the next branch of Bucharest Grill, a Middle Eastern restaurant on Park Avenue downtown. Great Wall has been listed for sale at $249,000 for a while now, offering 1,064 square feet and a couple adjacent lots to boot. Can anyone offer up additional intel on this situation?
