Today marks the first of four "open threads" hosted by Curbed as we work to refurbish our Curbed University section. Joining Curbed today is Detroit architect, preservation expert, and Building Hugger founder Amy Swift. The thread works like this: Between now and Sunday evening, submit any and all relevant questions you have for a Detroit preservationist in the comments below. Amy possesses a wealth of knowledge on Detroit's historic structures and how to treat them; questions in the range of "What's the deal with _____ building?" to "Can I legally tear down/alter my 19th century carriage house?" are all very much encouraged. Answers will appear on this blog on Monday afternoon, so don't delay!
