"Home for Autistic Children" Looks Very Much Like Scrapping

New, 8 comments

Terry Williams—a scrap hauler once convicted of running a chop shop— owes $930,000 in unpaid taxes on a former Chrysler factory in his possession. That debt should have had the property foreclosed on last spring, but ditzy Wayne County wasn't even aware he owned the place, somehow. Making hay while the sun shines, Terry's crew is hacking away at the plant and doing an awfully good impression of an operation committing Olympic levels of scrapping. Don't worry though— city inspectors reportedly found no signs of scrapping, and Terry has a very specific explanation: He's turning the 1.4 million-square-foot factory into a "home for autistic children."
