Detroit Urbex is reporting via Facebook that work is being done to the long-abandoned Roosevelt Hotel, where workers appear to be gutting the hotel's heavily damaged interior. Last we heard, the hotel was owned by unsavory property baron Dennis Kefallinos, who bought the building in the 2010 tax foreclosure auction for a mere $37,500. The property is currently on the market with a list price of $495,000. According to Why Don't We Own This, Kefallinos owes $38,421 in back taxes, though Wayne County has--for one reason or another--decided not to foreclose on the property quite yet. Anyone have any intel?
