Pot & Box will eventually open in an old Michigan Avenue service station. For now, however, nothing beats some free space downtown. From May to July, Pot & Box gets full use of a 375-square-foot retail space at D:Hive, courtesy of the new business incubator program Pilot. "Pop-up" has been abused to the point of not meaning anything at all, let's drop it for now. Shopping in a musty garage will always be more fun than normal retail space, but Pot & Box's home for the summer is impressively designed, well-stocked, and might soon be offering terrarium-building classes. Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
