This two-bedroom condo at the Book Cadillac is nice, but come on—$3,000 per month? We could be living in Manhattan for that kind of rent. And "quite nice" is certainly no over-the-top luxury. Granite countertops and stainless steel appliances in an otherwise beige, 1,450-square-foot box aren't loosening our purse strings. That being said, Book-Caddy's 28th floor does have some unparalleled views, and living in Detroit's flagship hotel has its perks: Free valet, fitness center/pool access, and room service—hopefully from Michael Symon's Roast down on the ground floor. Despite being advertised as a "corporate or executive lease," a minimum 12-month lease is required, which doens't make much sense. If you're going to go for the insanely-rich-business-traveler crowd, take a hint from the Broderick's corporate penthouse suite: Jack up the price and make an all-caps advertisement for a short-term lease.
