Workers Appear Atop the Crumbling Wurlitzer Building

New, 9 comments

Workers atop the Wurlitzer Building appeared to be repairing a portion of the crumbling building's roof yesterday morning, a tipster tells us. Taken from the Broderick Tower, this photo appears to show low wall being patched up with concrete block. As with any activity at a beautiful building caught in slumlord limbo, we foolishly wonder aloud whether this means a hero has come to its rescue (or, as our tipster put it, "someone wants a free coffee"). Unfortunately, replacing what used to be brick with cheap concrete block suggests an urgent bit of Sunday shoring up, possibly in response to another few bricks raining down on Broadway Street. See anything new? Please hit us up on the tipline.
