Elaine Stritch Hates Life In Dull $1.5M Birmingham Condo

New, 109 comments

The entirety of Michigan was all "welcome home!" when actress Elaine Stritch decided to ditch New York City for Birmingham last year. Stritch was born in Detroit, moving to NYC at age 17. Now 88, she wanted to be closer to family in Michigan, reportedly paying $1.5M for one of the 'Ham's notoriously swanky downtown abodes. It hasn't gone well. "I don't have a damned thing to do except take walks in Birmingham," Stritch complained to Vanity Fair. "It's a terribly, terribly hard adjustment." Obviously there has to be some sort of mistake. Has anyone told her about the Dog Parade, or the Corn Festival?
