Progress at the GAR Building has been one of our favorite projects to follow, but now things are close enough to the finish line that it's time to talk tenants. According to deliciously thorough look at the GAR by the Detroit News, the GAR's beautiful new storefronts have two new restaurants on the way. The first will be known as The Republic, which will feature a "tavern setting" with patio seating as a bonus. The other is unnamed, but will resemble a '50s-style diner with "neon, chrome, tile, and a long counter." No word on when those open up, but there's a ton of interesting building details available at the Detroit News.
