Exciting stuff is happening at the David Whitney Building. Yesterday a resident of the Broderick Tower hit us with this photo of workers removing bricks from the uppermost levels of Whitney's facade, which hasn't seen attention since much of its ornamentation was removed in a 1950s "modernization." Is this the beginnings of the architectural restoration we've been anticipating? Check out Historic Detroit's collection of old photos and tell us what you think. Whatever it is, we love seeing progress on the $82M restoration the Whitney will be enjoying for the next year. If you want to see what workers are up against, check out what we're now calling the 'before' photos.
