The vacant Highland Park Ford Plant is on its way to becoming a tourist destination. The Woodward Avenue Action Association plans on purchasing two of the complex's eight buildings for $550,000. Not a bad price for 48,000 square feet of Albert Kahn factory space plus some surrounding acreage. Known as the birthplace of the assembly line, the complex's first buildings date back to 1908.
