Formerly Fire-Burned Mansion Starts Reno After $145 K Sale

New, 8 comments

After lingering on the market for quite some time, this formerly fire-burned mansion on Detroit's Best Block, the oasis in Midtown that is West Canfield Street, is sporting new steps. And that can only mean a buyer has been found! Property data says it went for $145,000 cash on February 19, 2013. The home was originally built in 1880 for Dr. Henry Cleland, but divided into six apartment units in 1985, according to Midtown Detroit Inc's listing. The last ask we saw posted was $155,000 but no word or photos on how bad that fire damage was.
UPDATE: 11:00 am Realtor Liz Tintinalli has informed Curbed that the buyers are turning this back into a single family home. Sorry would-be renters. Maybe the Brentwood will be done soon.
