Large and in Charge: Z-Lot Readies For Retail and Parking

New, 42 comments

Dan Gilbert's Z-shaped monument to parking and retail now stands at its full height, making for an imposing presence on Downtown's Broadway Avenue. Like most Gilbert projects, progress at the Z-Lot has been speedy. It feels like only yesterday that workers were splashing around in a mud pit, listlessly digging holes here and there. Now we've got 1,287 parking spaces, office space, and the beginnings of seven storefronts on Broadway. No word yet on potential tenants for those retail spaces once construction finishes up in December — they're all still listed as "available" on Bedrock's website — but we'll keep our ears (and our wallets) open.
