Renovations are happening at the Riverfront Towers Apartments, a major landmark on Detroit's riverfront. MLive is reporting that an estimated $5M will be spent on upgrades across the board, including new appliances, revamped common areas, and improvements to plumbing, electrical, and security systems. That's an exciting turn-around for the Riverfront Towers Apartments, which fell into disrepair before going through foreclosure in 2011. The apartments are reaping the rewards of downtown Detroit's resurgence, reporting that the past six months have seen occupancy levels skyrocket from 60% to 94%. Just west of downtown's core, the towers have a private marina and a skywalk to Joe Louis Arena and its People Mover station.
