New, 4 comments

The historic Tushiyah United Hebrew School in Midtown Detroit is going to be renovated into 25 apartments. The project just got a $1M state loan and is the work of real estate developer Richard Hosey III. Lost Synagogues of Detroit lists the building, which is behind the DIA, as abandoned. It was designed by architect Isadore M. Lewis and built in 1922. It is listed on the National Register of historic places.
