You May Now Park Upon the Former Hotel Charlevoix

New, 42 comments

Well, here we are. Hotel Charlevoix's remains hung around for a while, but the rubble was carted off and cars have parked upon the hotel's grave, closing the book on what was Detroit's oldest surviving hotel until the morning of June 23, 2013. The next two preservation battles will likely be over the Wurlitzer and the Metropolitan buildings, both of which are in far better condition than the Hotel Charlevoix was at the time of demolition (which can be relived here.)
