One of the winners of the 2011 tax auction was Laura Breisch, an interior designer from Royal Oak who scored this West Village home for $5,000. Not only was the house in rough shape (zero utilities, fire damaged garage, and second floor addition was collapsing), but Laura would come to discover her home was on the city's demo list.
