Dramatic progress has been made at the Charlotte Apartments, the Cass Corridor apartment building where Detroit Central City Community Mental Health (DCC) is converting the historic building into a shelter for homeless veterans and those with special needs. The Charlotte Apartments were built in 1927, but spent the last decade (probably more) as a boarded-up eyesore. The $6.1M remod currently has the building looking like a brick shell, but the end product should be 27 one-bedroom apartments.
