Heartless Hults Continues Stringing Wayne County Along

New, 13 comments

Aspiring Packard Plant redeveloper William Hults failed to pay Wayne County $1M by Friday's deadline. According to the definition of "deadline," his non-payment should've killed the mixed-use mirage that was his Villages of Packard idea, sending the Packard Plant to the tax auction.

But this is Wayne County, and that doesn't seem to have happened.

Deputy Wayne County Treasurer Dave Sysmanski, the man partially in charge of the county's shoebox full of cash, has yet to break things off with Hults. He's still awaiting that promised $1M, which he thinks might arrive today. We'll await news on that. Meanwhile, the Packard caught fire on again on Friday, but don't worry -- It's insured.
