The New Office Tower's Rear End: Retail and Floating Ivy

New, 34 comments

The grand reveal of the new office tower happened this morning up on the 22nd floor of the Guardian Building, which actually revealed very little in terms of new information. For all the excitement, all we got was this previously unseen rendering of the tower's rear end, which will be the Compuware Building's eastern view. Hope you weren't too fond of the sunrise, guys. Architects love greenwashing their renderings with generous amounts of plant life, but these guys upped the ante big-time. Potted plants? Child's play. Try a levitating belt of ivy. Apparently we'll have developed that technology by the time construction finishes up in 2017. At this point, floating ivy by 2017 seems more likely than a completed M1 Rail, which has yet to begin construction.
