Restaurant Week and West Village's New Vegan Eatery

DETROITDetroit Restaurant Week is starting, and with it comes the excitement of potentially excellent multi-course meals for just $30, and the irritation of being unable to eat at any of the participating restaurants without a reservation made far in advance. Still deciding whether or not it's worth it?Take a look at the menu for each restaurant to get an idea of what you could be missing. Participating restaurants include Cuisine, Roma Cafe, Roast, Rattlesnake Club, Cliff Bell's, and many more.
HAMTRAMCKThe brand new Hamtramck Food Week launches Monday, September 23rd. The event is separate from Detroit Restaurant Week, and could be a good option for those looking to eat somewhere off of the beaten path. Restaurant specials will appeal to the budget conscious, (many participating venues will have features for under $10) and food will range from traditional Polish to Coney dogs, Pakistani cuisine to the much-hyped Revolver. Hatch finalist HenriettaHaus Coffee Roasters will be hosting an event, as will specialty grocers and others throughout the city. Check the updated event schedule for more info.

WEST VILLAGE—Detroit is buzzing with opening and soon-to-be open restaurants this fall, and Detroit Vegan Soul is among them. This Thursday they had their first in-house preview with real diners, and they will be open to the public again on Saturday, September 21st. D.V.S also plans to host an official "Grand Opening Celebration" on September 28th with live music, but if you can't wait that long, the preview on Saturday runs from 4:00-9:00 p.m.
