Brewster-Douglass Projects Losing the Townhouses First

New, 12 comments

The demolition of the Brewster-Douglass complex is underway as we type. Before the 14-story towers are conquered, demo crews are focused on the Brewster townhouses. Built in the 1940s, these townhouses have been vacant since roughly 2007—more than enough time to enjoy a couple good fires, a flood, and the obligatory scrapping mayhem. When we arrived on scene, a backhoe was crunching into the building while a smaller bulldozer zipped around mowing the knee-high lawn. It's a little late for landscaping, guys.
