It's been a month of nonstop good news for the Belle Isle Aquarium, which should be ready to unveil two new creatures on Saturday: electric eels. According to the Detroit News, the eels are originally from Peru and could grow up to six feet long.
The News also explains how volunteers were able to salvage all sorts of tankscaping supplies from the National Aquarium in Washington, DC, which is moving to a new building in Baltimore. The supplies include "the fiberglass hull of a Great Lakes freighter," which weighs a total of 550 pounds.
