Sold: Downtown's Historic and Snooty Detroit Club

New, 4 comments

Emre Uralli is back! Having just unloaded the Free Press and David Stott buildings for over $13M, the Florida investor purchased yet another downtown property last week—The Detroit Club. Opened in 1891 as a place for Detroit's snootiest, most powerful individuals to meet and slurp cocktails, the 35,000-square-foot mansion hasn't seen much use in recent decades. It's not clear what sort of condition the interior is in, and Emre hasn't commented on the potential for renovation. Aside from creating SkyBar, Emre's time in Detroit has demonstrated a greater interest in reselling properties for profit than investing in them. Let's hope this one is a step in the other direction.
