Here's a new rendering of downtown's new "Fitzgerald Square" development, which was recently proposed for the old Statler Hotel site. The renderings look far larger than we thought, involving three separate high rises. Additionally, Fitz seems to have specific restaurants in mind for some retail space we didn't previously know about. If this rendering is accurate, the southern towers look to be about 25 stories tall, including 5 stories of parking deck below.
Residential: The developers plan for 150 apartments, and we're assuming they're inside those two orange buildings to the rear. Both towers sit atop five levels of parking garage, which appears to be topped with green space.
Retail: According to Crain's, there are four businesses "expected" at Fitzgerald Square, including the Blues Note club and Gillespie's jazz bar. The group is rounded out by Grant Street Cleaners and Luca's Chop House. The latter just closed a Rochester Hills location, mentioning a "plan to relocate sometime in the near future."
Hotel: The "boutique" hotel would 118 rooms under the Joie de Vivre banner. Is that a skywalk next to the People Mover rail?
