Arena District Purges Three More Historic Buildings

New, 16 comments

A trio of historic homes on Temple Street disappeared Monday afternoon, presumably to make room for development related to the new Red Wings arena. Built between 1895 and 1910, the dilapidated , ivy-covered houses were some of the Cass Corridor's most recognizable ruins.

While we don't know exactly who demolished the houses or why, we do know that their sleezy ex-neighbor, the Temple Hotel, was demolished earlier this year in order to expand a neighboring DTE substation.
