On the market since June, a likable three-bedroom unit at Chateaufort Place is beginning to wither. Despite its semi-updated interior and a solid location in Lafayette Park, the price recently received a $10K haircut. It's now asking $114,900. Will a buyer be found? The decor isn't dazzling, but you can't sneeze at 2.5 bathrooms, 1,100 square feet, and a rocky patch of backyard.
As always, we must point Chateaufort's location right next to the Dequindre Cut and downtown Detroit. Keep in mind: Because Chateaufort is a co-op, you end up paying a monthly fee that covers everything from utilities to taxes.
NOTE: We initially wrote about this unit as a comparison to the The Wolf, a considerably dumpier unit with a cheaper asking price. Last we heard, The Wolf was under contract for less than $100K. It's currently off the market.
