Pour one out for the old Tap Sports Pub banner, for the Cadillac Tower has a new outfit for the first time since 2013. For whatever reason, MGM Grand Casino decided that Detroiters deserve to stare at a sad-looking lion on a contrasting black banner for the next couple years. The old Tap banner, designed to blend in with the brick facade, looks immensely considerate by comparison. It's entirely possible, however, that we're just spoiled. It wasn't long ago that Detroit's architecture was given the middle finger when the David Whitney Building was concealed by an iPad banner.
