After more than a year of delay, M1 Rail has finally selected a company to manufacture Detroit's future streetcars. The winner is Inekon, a Czech Republic-based company that has built streetcars for Portland, DC, and Seattle. Detroit's six streetcars wil include bike racks and WiFi, so let's hope we can live blog an inaugural ride a couple years from now. Until then, feast your eyes on some photos of Seattle's Inekon trams and try to imagine them rumbling up and down Woodward. It's not easy.
