Restoration Hardware Plans Store in Downtown Detroit

Is Restoration Hardware opening a store in downtown Detroit? According to the anonymous sources of Crain's reporter Amy Haimerl, the luxury furniture/fixtures retailer will open a new location at either 1201 Woodward—formerly the Detroit Shoppe—or 1261 Woodward, where Somerset's annual CityLoft pop-up used to be. Naturally, both are controlled by Dan Gilbert. Only one, however, is currently undergoing major construction. That's the old Detroit Shoppe, which would give Restoration Hardware corner location and bridge the gap between Campus Martius and Capitol Park.
