Activity has been spotted at the Roosevelt Warehouse, known more infamously as the abandoned Detroit Public Schools book repository. A tipster reports that Roosevelt's upper windows have been freshly boarded-up sometime in the last few weeks. It's unusual progress for a building owned by billionaire Matty Moroun, who left the premises wide-open until a body was found encased in ice within an interior elevator shaft in 2009. The building was abandoned in the late '80s, when Detroit Public Schools left countless school supplies to rot inside after a fire on an upper floor. DetroitUrbex reports that the piles of ruined textbooks, once a favorite target for photographers, were removed in 2012. Have any info? Find us on the tipline.
