MIDTOWNHopCat, the craft beer bar with 130 beers on tap, is coming to Detroit, and the media is beside itself at the news. Here's a roundup of all the major articles about the bar, with all the interesting information and none of the boring stuff. ROYAL OAK—What was one Sangria, the tapas restaurant and salsa club, is now Bistro 82 and Sabrage, a restaurant and "ultra lounge" featuring French-inspired cuisine, but not sharks as originally reported. Check out the interior, which does have fish!

BIRMINGHAM220 Restaurant is potentially closed for good, or maybe they're just undergoing renovation, or maybe they're now owned by Denise Illitch. It's all confusing, and nothing has been confirmed, but the doors are definitely closed, there's just no saying for how long.

DETROIT— Writer Bill Loomis really knows Detroit food, and he's written two books to prove it. He spoke with Eater about the role of food in the city's renaissance, his own food history, and what makes Detroit such a great culinary metropolis.

DETROIT— Looking for a vegetarian or vegan option in the city? Here's a map of six of the city's top places to find meatless cuisine that even carnivores will love (or at least tolerate).
