Pure Detroit has assembled a nifty little souvenir shop at the Belle Isle Aquarium, setting up its "Island Outpost" in the building's old volunteer office. Surrounded with windows and wood paneling, Pure Detroit may have found the best nook in an ancient building that's full of them.
From Pewabic Pottery to postcards, the Island Outpost sells all things Detroit and donates a portion of its proceeds to the Belle Isle Conservancy, the volunteer organization operating the aquarium since helping it to reopen 2012. It's now open every Saturday, from 10am 'til 3pm.
